Allergy Testing & Treatment

An allergy is an immune reaction in which exposure to tiny amounts of a specific substance (the allergen) results in an exaggerated immune response, with unpleasant symptoms and signs.

If you experience hay fever, sneezing, and/or coughing, chronic sinusitis and/or bronchitis, itching, rashes, headaches, bloating, indigestion, muscle, and joint pains, fatigue, then you have a pretty good chance of having a component of allergies.

Reactions to allergenic substances might include:

  • Inhaled allergens, such as pollen, dust mites, mold, or pet dander,
  • Candida,
  • Foods,
  • Chemicals.

Our assessment includes:

  • a targeted history and examination
  • lab work, including comprehensive testing to identify exactly the offending allergen(s), a treatment plan, including immunotherapy (oral drop) treatments. Sublingual drops are convenient, and can be done by you at home.

Food allergies can often be difficult to diagnose and treat because they can present with a wide and variable range of symptoms. Bloating and cramping are more common symptoms, but symptoms may occur long after the offending food has been eaten, which makes it even more difficult to correctly identify these allergenic foods.
