Alexander T. Augoustides, M.D., ABIHM, FAAFP

Dr. Alexander Augoustides or simply “Dr. A” has been in private practice since 1993, and has a solid background in Family Medicine with a special interest in Holistic Integrative Medicine.  Our clinic, Piedmont Integrative Medicine, was established in 1984 under the leadership of Dr. Walter A. Ward. Dr. A took over stewardship of the clinic in 2004 and has been practicing Holistic Integrative Medicine since for over 15 years. His guiding principle is to treat the individual, not their condition.

His aim is to give his patients an alternative to the hustle and bustle of modern health care by implementing the principles of both allopathic (traditional) medicine and alternative medicine in his work and providing a tranquil, happy environment for his patients to receive care.

Outside of the practice, Dr. A enjoys photography in Reynolda Gardens, staying in shape in the pool, soaking up the sun on an NC beach, and attending church with his family. When asked what his life mantra is he replied, “Simply to go with the flow.”

Alexander T. Augoustides, M.D. earned his medical degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and completed his residency at Marshall University School Of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. Following this, he completed a family practice fellowship program at ETSU in Johnson City, Tennessee. A practicing physician, Dr. Augoustides has continued the legacy of PIM, PA – a clinic focused on creating short and long-term goals of health from the unique circumstances accompanying each of our patients

Our Nurses
Jenny
Jenny has been on staff here at Piedmont Integrative Medicine since the earlier days of the practice, and is one of our “lifers.” She received her Associate in Applied Science in 2000 from Davidson County Community College, and is our best stick!  Jenny says the most rewarding parts of working in healthcare are the friendships she has formed with her patients here at Piedmont Integrative Medicine. “My patients are a positive and happy part of my life.” Outside of the office, you can find Jenny reeling in fish on the NC coast, cooking a delicious meal, and cracking jokes. She also treasures her time with her family, especially her daughter, and hubby.
Robin

Our second in command in the nurse’s station is none other than Robin herself. Robin attended Lee’s McRae College in 1982, and went back to Guilford Technical Community College in 1985 and 1991 to further her education. Robin says she became a nurse simply because she lives to help others: “It’s rewarding and satisfying to watch people grow, improve, and heal. The patients feed my soul with love and happiness.”  Robin loves to sing, enjoy music, and hangout with her friends. But, her most treasured possession is her family, most notably her two sons, and her fur babies who are “ a blessing for empty nest syndrome.”

Donna

Our newest nurse, Donna,  attended Rowan Cabarrus Community College for Office Practices and earned her RMA in 2010. Donna is so sweet, bubbly, and is learning quite fast here at Piedmont Integrative Medicine; her favorite part of work each day is the experience she has with each and every patient. “Each patient is different and from a different walk of life. Being in the medical field for 24 years, it thrills my heart when the patient gets treatment from Dr. A, and cannot believe how much it helps them. I love helping my patients, and working on a great team.” On the weekends, Donna enjoys watching movies, riding bikes and going to the pool with her grandchildren, and spending time being thankful for her faith, family, and friends.

Our Receptionists
Angie
Angie is wonderful and friendly. Her special skills include unpacking supplements super quick, always having a friendly smile, and bring the first to decorate our office at the change of the season. On the weekends, Angie enjoys hanging out with family.
Stephanie
Stephanie always has a nice demeanor, and the patients love when she checks them in. She is especially good at multitasking, also keeping a friendly smile, and providing great conversation. Stephanie loves her family time and enjoys a good shopping trip.
